Victoria Beckham has given birth to her fourth child and first daughter today.
The as-yet-unnamed baby girl was born at 7:55 this morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, weighing in at 7 lbs., 10 oz. She joins brothers Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz. (As per the family’s spokesperson: ”Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz are excited to welcome their new baby sister to the family.” As they should be!)
The pair announced they were expecting back in March, saying:
“Obviously, we’re very lucky to be expecting again, and this is the first time I’m going to say it: It’s a little girl. We’re still in shock. Obviously, having three boys, you kind of expect another one, so finding out a little girl is in there is surprising, but, obviously, we are over the moon.”
The fashion designer and her soccer star husband David - who already have three sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and six-year-old Cruz.
A spokesman for the couple - who have been married for 12 years - said: "David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter.
Victoria - who has made no secret of her desire to have a daughter - recently said she felt "blessed" to be pregnant again even though it's tough being a working mother.
The 37-year-old star said: "As any working mother out there knows, it really is like juggling glass balls when you've got the kids and a husband to look after, and you're passionate about your career.
We can only imagine Baby Girl Beckham will rival Skyler Berman for the title of “most fashionable infant”. Not only does her mom have serious fashion cred, her dad has gotten in on the action, too. So has her 8-year-old brother Romeo, who also happens to be super stylish. So, yes, we have high sartorial hopes for this little lady! (We also assume she will be given a somewhat odd name. We hope it’s Posh. Girl power!)
