Members of the British royal family have been getting married left and right over the past several months, but Prince Harry won’t be joining his relatives in matrimonial bliss anytime soon. It’s been reported that the prince has broken up with his girlfriend, lingerie model Florence Brudenell-Bruce.
Page Six reports that the 26-year-old prince, who’s third in line for the throne, doesn’t want to be “tied down” at the moment — especially while he’s training for an upcoming return to Afghanistan with the British Army — so he and Brudenell-Bruce have called it quits. Reports of their relationship popped up shortly after the royal wedding, when it was alleged that his former girlfriend Chelsea Davy didn’t want to deal with the pressure of being a royal. (At the time, Prince Harry said he was “100 percent single.”)
But it seemed that he wasn’t weeks later, when newspapers and websites around the world started reporting that he was seeing Brudenell-Bruce. Some even went as far as to suggest that, because Florence pays her bills by posing in underwear, the Queen would never approve of their relationship. The Brudenell-Bruce family has been about as royal as you can get since, well, forever ago, (forever ago being the mid-1600s) but that hasn’t stopped some of the contemporary members of the family from doing un-royal things like recording rock albums and going to rehab. Scandalous!
Of course, every family has its black sheep (just look at Harry’s uncle Prince Andrew), so we’re not counting Florence out just yet. It is worth noting, however, that Davy was invited to the wedding of Harry’s cousin Zara Phillips and Brudenell-Bruce was not. Maybe, just maybe, there was nothing to their relationship to begin with?
