Baby Harper clutches at David Beckham's hand as he reveals new ink

He's always been one to wear his heart on his sleeve, and now it seems David Beckham has decided to show his affection on his hand as well.

Victoria posted a picture of her husband's newest inking on Twitter, which spells the word 'Love'.

And poignantly the photo also showed baby Harper's tiny hand clutching her father's finger.

Her miniature fingers couldn't even reach the whole way around, but the determined four-month-old was clearly holding on tight.

The 32-year-old's newest tattoo is appropriately written in red ink, and on the same hand as his wedding ring.

Love has naturally been at the forefront of his mind since the birth of his new daughter on the 10 July.

Already a jet setter, David and Victoria took little Harper along to get her first passport today at the Wilshire Federal Building in Los Angeles.

She will need to have one as soon as possible due to the family's regular. trips back to England.

According to Celebrity Baby Scoop, the LA Galaxy player recently opened up over his daughter, gushing: 'With Harper, she’s so calm, she’s so ladylike, she’s so feminine.'

'Everything she does is a milestone… the way she holds herself, the way she breathes, the way she smiles, the way she makes noises. It’s just – it’s amazing.'

David tends to add to his already impressive collection when he feels the need to commemorate milestones or significant people in his life.

In February he had a chest tattoo done of Jesus being lifted by three cherubs.

The footballer has said that these symbolise himself and his three sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 6.
‘It’s Jesus being carried by three cherubs and obviously the cherubs are my boys and so my thought of it is that at some point my boys are going to need to look after me and that’s what they’re doing in the picture,' he explained on Facebook.

'It’s my way of expressing the way I’m feeling. Most of my tattoos are memories or things that mean a lot to me,' he added.

The star also has a six inch picture of Victoria on his left arm, and a ring of roses on his left bicep, one for each year of their 11 year marriage.

David prefers his new designs to be spontaneous, relying on sudden inspiration as opposed to months of consideration.

'I don’t plan on having a tattoo, but just sometimes I wake up with an idea or an image of what I would like on me,' he divulged.

Beckham is a prominent fan of one of LA’s biggest tattoo artists, Mark Mahoney, who has worked on a long list of famous names who include Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

‘He’s not a tattooist who goes on and does TV programmes. He’s low key and stays out of things and is very talented,‘ said the star.
