QPR’s new owner Tony Fernandes is planning a sensational swoop for England legend David Beckham. The Malaysian tycoon believes it will aid Beckham’s Olympic dream and wants him to return to London as soon as his MLS season ends with LA Galaxy. Fernandes believes he can persuade Beckham with the promise of regular first-team football in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic games.
QPR are fully aware that the player will not come cheap but believe shirt sales and other merchandising will more than cover the cost of bringing him to West London. His Galaxy deal expires at the end of the season and although he has been offered a new deal, he has not yet committed.
